2013: A Busy Year!

Hello Everybody! Sorry it's been so long since we've updated this blog; we've had a very busy year!

First thing's first... Our big news for the year is the birth of our daughter, Melanie Kathleen Stein. She was born on October 18th at 2:21 pm. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19.5 in. long.

The new family of four!

We had no shortage of company while we were in the hospital. We're so blessed to have such loving family and friends!

Douglas has been such a great big brother so far. We've spent a lot of time teaching Douglas about babies and what it means to be "gentle" this year, and its definitely paid off! Its so wonderful to watch the way he watches her and protects her. We're still adjusting to our new lives as a family of four, but we couldn't be happier!

As most of you probably know by now, Tony accepted a new job with GE Aviation in February of this year. It was a difficult decision for us to uproot our lives in Oxford, but we were also very excited to see what Grand Rapids had to offer. At the end of March, we said goodbye to our friends, family, and coworkers and made the move. We spent our first six months in a small, two-bedroom apartment. In September, we moved into our new house in Rockford, which is about 10 miles north of Grand Rapids. There's a running/biking trail (the White Pine Trail) and the Rogue River that run right through town. There's also a neat dam and an adjacent park/playground right by the river. There are also some great restaurants and ice cream shops! Our new neighborhood is filled with families with small children. We've spent lots of time and had lots of fun exploring the Grand Rapids area and taking Doug to see all sorts of new things. We've already made some new friends, and we're sure we'll make many more!
